Philadelphia
PA ![]() Since we had over 45+ (dare I say over 50?!) attendees at last month's long overdue #phillygrommoff, and have heard from so many of you that you want more, let's have one! We are pleased to announce that the next Grommoff will be....
BIG WIG HEROES AND VILLAINS BRUNCH: THE ULTIMATE DRAG EXPERIENCE! Punch Line Philly 33 E Laurel St Philadelphia, PA 19123
THERE IS A LOT TO READ HERE - MY APOLOGIES, but it's good stuff that will enhance your experience:
About the Show: Take your Saturdays and pump up the volume! Join Philadelphia's FINEST drag performers for a brunch you will never forget. Get a cocktail, bring your friends and get ready to flip your wig! All seating is general admission but we will all, or mostly, be sitting together.
*****VERY IMPORTANT: since we'd all like to sit together, please follow these instructions if you plan to attend: 1) Be sure to note the date, as there are drag brunches on other dates. The Grommoff is June 10th 2) Purchase your ticket at https://www.punchlinephilly.com/EventDetail?tmeventid=vvG1FZ9Jhu-VBC&offerid=144342 Tickets are $27 + $6.80 "convenience charge", and include 1 mimosa (additional drinks and brunch are available for purchase) OR check out groupon.com too and avoid the convenience charge!
3) VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! Send me a DM on here *after* you have purchased your ticket so that I can include you in the headcount. If you skip this step, I cannot guarantee that you will be able to sit with us. If you have limited messages because you haven't purchased GrommrXL, post a comment on my profile (Titanicgains) or on this event's wall asking me to DM you. Marking yourself as "attending" on here will not be enough for me to add you to the seating list because that's a soft RSVP, so please, please remember to DM me *after* you have purchased your ticket.
3) Seating begins at 11:00 a.m. (showtime is at noon)
NOTE the following as well!
• One of the performers is a member of our community! • Please be cognizant of your safety entering the event in light of recent heightened discrimination against drag performers, trans folx, and our community in general • In light of the above, ***please consider tipping the performers generously!*** • This is an 18-and-over event (Bike Stop after is 21+) • There is a 2-drink minimum per guest at Punch Line. (this can be as simple as a soft drink, coffee, water, or other n.a. beverage for our sober and under-21 guests) • Bags up to 12” x 6” x 12” are allowed in the venue. • All bags may be searched prior to entry. • Bags that are not clear will be subject to additional search. • Punch Line is operating at full capacity. Please be aware you may be asked to share a table with other guests, especially if you didn't RSVP to be included in our group (see above). This is highly unlikely though, as my recent visit suggests that we will be accommodated very well.
OK, NOW WHAT ABOUT *AFTER* THE EVENT?? The brunch ends at 4pm according to the website, but will likely end much sooner, around 2pm. For those who wish, feel free to head over to The Bike Stop after, where we will gather starting at 5pm! For those who weren't able to join us last time, the Bike Stop is a gay leather-themed bar that was so thrilled to host us for our previous events. They are unassuming and non-judgmental, and many of us had shirts off and plenty of belly rubs last time, particularly as the night wore on! Due to plumbing issues, we may be on the first floor again (which seemed to be just fine anyway last time), but closer to the event I'll find out for sure. At any rate, we won't be hard to find. I will likely be wearing my Grokio Communities-branded baseball cap (backwards, most likely).
****************************** As always, please feel free to reach out with ideas for future events! I am not an event planner by profession and am not a Grommr employee, so I can always use suggestions and help with logistics :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
