This event includes a nightlife portion that is 21+. Everyone 18+ is welcome through the day!

July Belle Isle Beach day - Detroit’s own Central Park. Only requires a Michigan recreation pass or $13 to get in.

1. BEACH -There's a lot to do on the island itself, including a historic Aquarium, conservatory, and several beaches. (For whale watching of course ;) It's like Detroit’s own Central Park, with a fountain, nature center, lots of optional walking trails, fishing, and kayaking. Yard games - Bring any you like! We will have Ladder ball, frisbee, giant jenga, and more.

We will be grilling out hotdogs and some burgers. You are of course welcome to bring your own meat to grill as well!

**Parking - You can easily park on the island, given you don't come too close to afternoon. Try to arrive around 11 or earlier for easy access.

**Bus - If you would prefer to take the buses from downtown, here’s a link for bus info: https://detroitmi.gov/sites/detroitmi.localhost/files/2021-11/12-Conant-Nov2021.pdf

*If you drive onto the island, you will either need a MI Recreation pass, or just $13 to park on the island.

Alcohol - If you'd like to drink, it is recommended you bring a discreet cup or tumbler. Alcohol is, by law, not permitted without a permit, which requires an associated shelter or building rented. They were all full every Saturday of July. Basically, keep it to yaself.

2. MUSEUM - Detroit Art Institute is currently ranked #1 in the United States among art museums. We’ll take some time to escape the sun, soak in the air conditioning and peruse the world-renowned art collection for the afternoon. There is also a couple food options there (Kresge Court and Cafe DIA) in case you get peckish before dinner. Admission is $18 adults, $10 for seniors and college students!

**Parking - The Museum Parking Lot is $7, located at 5217 Brush St, Detroit, MI 48202. More parking options at this link: https://dia.org/visit/parking.

**Bus - There is also a bus that runs from Belle Isle right in front of the museum. Take the 12 off Belle Isle, then the 31, then the QLINE to the museum. Takes about 1hr.

**DINNER - There are several restaurants near the museum we can go. Best two options: 1) Ima Noodles Japanese OR 2) Shield’s Restaurant Bar Pizzeria
