Want to go to Philly Pride with your friends from Grommr? Thought so!

Not really a Grommoff as much as it is an informal gathering: join us for some (or all) of this year's Pride March and Festival on June 2nd!

8:30 a.m. - Early riser? Want to beat the traffic? We will begin with breakfast at the Red Owl Tavern, 433 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA, 19106

****If you wish to join for breakfast, be sure to message Titanicgains here or on Discord, to be added to the reservation. Spaces extremely limited: As of 5/27, there are 5 spots remaining. This will be casual, no tickets or packages to purchase; we'll just split the bill at the end.

10:00 a.m. - Those who wish to join the march can meet us directly across Chestnut Street from the center entrance of Independence Hall. By 10:15 sharp, we will waddle our way a block south to where the march begins (6th & Walnut). ***due to uncertainties regarding the crowds, it may be difficult to meet at that exact location in front of City Hall. Be sure to check the where-u-at channel on Discord for live updates if needed.

12:00 Noon to Whenever - Enjoy the Pride Festival, loosely as a group, which will be centered and spreading out from 13th & Locust Streets. Check the #where-u-at channel on our Discord so that we can attempt to stay together

From Phillypride365.org/festival - The festival will feature over 200 small businesses that Philly Pride 365 has employed an equitable funding model to procure. In addition, there will be stages with local performers, entertainers, artists, vendors, food trucks, community organizations, and local bars.

FAQs:

~ HOW DO I RSVP??? You don't need to! --unless you want to be added to the breakfast reservation, in which case you'll want to message Titanicgains

~ How much does this cost? We aren't collecting any money for tickets, meal/drink packages, etc. This is just a chill event and you'll pay for whatever you care to consume, if anything :)

~ I'm under 21. May I attend? Sure! However, certain venues at Pride are 21+ so you may not enter those venues. All members under U.S. legal drinking age may not consume alcohol, nor may members who are of age give underage attendees alcohol.

~ Lots of people have signed up but I don't see much activity on the event page. What gives? Events/Grommoffs only appear on the web version of Grommr and not on the app, so most of us keep up-to-speed by using our secret Philly Grommoff Discord server! Let us know by sending a message to Titanicgains or dropping a comment below if you'd like an invitation to the server.

~ How do I get there? While limited street parking can be found all up and down Market Street, Chestnut Street and Arch Street, some stretches will be closed to traffic. Translation: Public transportation or ridesharing are your best bets. Several SEPTA buses drop off right near the starting line. Another good option: the 5th Street Independence Hall station of SEPTA’s Market/Frankford subway line.

We know that attending a GrommOff, Feabie Meet or Ferzu Event for the first time can be scary, but bringing along a friend from outside the community for support can make others feel uncomfortable and force them to edit themselves the way they do in the real world (the goal of our gatherings is to let everyone stop editing!) If you absolutely must bring a friend from outside the community and you are confident they will know how to behave appropriately, you must clear it with the organizer BEFORE the event. Any portion of a gathering occurring in a bar or pub is excepted from this rule.
