Here are the rough details:

By one of YOUR suggestions, we will begin gathering for an afternoon of food and culture anytime after 12noon, but officially starting around 1:30 on September 9 (the Saturday *after* Labor Day weekend, to accommodate those who will be out of town for the holiday weekend) at Picnic Area C (Map in images, SW of baseball fields) at FDR Park in South Philly near the stadiums.

This will be a potluck-style picnic event and occurs within walking distance of the SE Asian Market, a pop-up of authentic Southeast Asian food, so we may enjoy some reasonably priced food options in addition to whatever people bring. On our Discord server, we will create a poll of some sort in the coming days to figure out what everyone is bringing so that we can avoid too many overlaps.

Picnic Area C is close to parking and is in between the pickleball courts and the baseball fields in the south-southwest portion of FDR Park, and is the closest picnic area to the market that was available to reserve. I have secured and paid for a permit from the City of Philadelphia for the use of the space, which is ample in size but only includes two picnic tables, as is typical for the picnic areas. So, if you have outdoor camping chairs, you are encouraged to bring one (and more than one if you are willing!).

Looking to make this super chill so that it's laid back, very affordable, 18+ friendly, etc.

An optional 21+ after-grommoff gathering will follow in the evening. By the results of a poll on Discord, we are going back to the Bike Stop because it is a non-judgmental option where guys often take off their shirts without fear of fat discrimination.

IN CASE OF RAIN ONLY: If rain is expected, we will notify you here and on Discord no later than 11:30am on Saturday, 9/9. The after-grommoff gathering will be rain or shine and will still occur on 9/9, but the picnic portion will be moved to Sunday, 9/10 at noon.
