NYC 2019 Pride Parade & Lunch

Hey there friends and out-of-towners! Welcome to Grommr at NYC Pride!

I'm Brian (SkinnyOtaku), and I am very excited to get the ball rolling for Grommr events!

This year there will be two events for NYC Pride: a Dinner on Saturday and a Parade Viewing/Lunch on Sunday! This page is specifically for the Parade Viewing and Lunch on Sunday June 30th!

First things first: the Pride March parade! I plan on being on the northwestern corner of 14th Street and 5th Avenue at eleven thirty, where the parade will pass on by. There is also a crossing at that intersection, and I'll be standing near the TD Bank on the corner. We can watch the parade pass by at 12, then walk over to the restaurant at 12:45 or so. Since the weather might be really hot that day, be sure to pack sunscreen and a waterbottle!

I don't know exactly what time the parade crossings will close. The parade starts at 12, but hopefully it remains open a little before hand.

I plan on making it to Sammy's Noodle Shop by 1 pm. Sammy's is on the southwest corner of 6th avenue & 11th street, where I'll wait outside for a bit before we go inside to a table. It's one of mine and a lot of Grommrite's favorite places--great food, huge portions and never super busy. Please mark yourself as Attending or PM me if you are planning on coming to the lunch. I need a headcount beforehand so I know how many of us will be there.

After a great & filling lunch at Sammy's we'll find our way over to RockBar. Once we're at Rockbar and we see how busy it is, if we as a group decide to go somewhere else I wouldn't say no to that!

Overall, I want us to have a fantastic Pride for 2019. I can't wait to see new and old Grommr friends! Direction/Trains:

The Current Meeting Place--northwest corner of 14th Street and 5th Avenue. You can easily get there with a bit of walking from the 14th Street F/M/L line, the 14th Street 1/2/3 line or from the 14th-Union Square 4/5/6/L/N/W/R/W line (on the eastern side of the parade route). The parade route has a crossing at 14th and 5th ave, but it will close up for the parade start.

***The Meeting Place for the Parade is subject to change. Any updates to the Meeting Place will be posted below, and the information presented above will be updated.

Sammy's Noodle Shop is at 453 6th Ave, New York City. It's at 6th and 10th, really close to the Christopher Street 1/2 line, 14th Street's F/M/L stop, and a few blocks from the West 4th-Washington Square Station (A/B/C/D/E/F). There's also the 9th Street PATH station, for those out-of-towners.

RockBar is at 185 Christopher St, New York City. The nearest subways are: the Christopher 1/2 and the PATH at Christopher or 9th; however with a bit of walking you can get there from the West 4th-Washington A/B/C/D/E/F, or the really far 14th Street F/L. Getting to RockBar is a bit of walk no matter which train you take, so be prepared.
